ヒメマス

ヒメマス（姫鱒、Oncorhynchus nerka）は、サケ目サケ科の淡水魚の一種で、湖沼残留型（陸封型）のものを指す（降海型はベニザケという）。1904年（明治42年）、北海道庁水産課職員により命名された。北海道ではアイヌ語で「薄い魚」を意味するカパチェプ(kapacep)のうちの魚を意味するチェプ(cep)が訛った「チップ」の名でも呼ばれている。
